Using Desk365<\/a><\/span>, you can create any number of custom ticket fields that can be included in ticket forms.<\/p>

There are ‘Default’ ticket fields like Subject, Priority, Status, Type, and more that are already part of Desk365.<\/p>

Other than the \u2018Default\u2019 fields you can also add customized fields that are more specific to your own helpdesk.<\/p>

You\u2019ll find two types of customizable fields in Desk365: single level and multi-level.<\/p>

Single Level Fields: These are fields that have a single level of hierarchy, fields like Dropdown, Text Input, Date, Number etc.<\/p>

Multi-level fields: These fields have multiple levels of hierarchy. You can start at one level and based on the choice at the first level, the next level will display a different set of fields.<\/p>

There are two types of Multi-level fields available in Desk365. They are \u2018Dropdown with sections<\/a>\u2019 and \u2018Nested Dropdowns<\/a>\u2018.<\/p>

We have introduced a new ticket field type: Read Only Text. This allows you to make certain fields read only for your end-users.<\/p>

With this ticket field, you’ve the ability to add view only labels to the ticket forms and do more.<\/p>

Read only texts in ticket fields<\/h2>\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Read Only Text fields are useful if admins want to display helpful information in the form without requiring any user input. You can use them to:<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

  • Share instructions<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>
  • Highlight important steps<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>
  • Add context to a section of the form<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>
  • Remind users to provide specific information<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li><\/ul>

    They also help structure longer forms and make them easier to understand for end-users.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

    Let\u2019s go through an example of how to add this.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

    • Navigate to Settings > Admin > Ticket Fields.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>
    • From the list of field types, drag and drop the \u2018Read Only Text\u2019 field into your custom field list.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li><\/ul>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

      • Enter a message in the \u2018Label for Agents\u2019 and \u2018Label for Contacts\u2019 fields \u2014 for example: \u201cPlease make sure to enter the location code here\u201d.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>
      • Click Save.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li><\/ul>

        Once added to a ticket form (like the \u2018Create Ticket\u2019 form in the Support Portal), this field will appear as a non-editable informational block that users can view but not change.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
